There are 30 french students coming to the Cleveland area and would love to spend part of the summer with you.  Hosting a french student this summer just got easier.  We have 2 groups coming this year with  the first group is arriving July 11th to the 31st and the second on August 1st to the 20th.  These students come fluent in English with their own spending money and are fully insured. They are coming to America to live with a host families and experience the lazy summer days life style that Americans get to enjoy.  They want to see where you do your shopping, watch what you view on TV and enjoy a summer evening doing a family activity like  taking in a baseball game or going to the lake to see the beautiful Cleveland sunset.  I have hosted with World Exchange for the last 15 years and can answer all your questions and concerns.  I will post daily letters from past students and chaperons and you can read their words about their USA experience.  This first post is from last years chaperon Soline......

Let me tell you in a few words about my various experiences in language exchange programs.
I indeed started as a foreign student discovering different English speaking countries and cultures. I have always loved these programs because they offer so much more than any other type of travel. Having the great opportunity to live among local communities and feeling part of a ‘new’ family has always been amazing experiences.
I have always wanted to discover new people and new places as well as trying to improve my language skills. Therefore, I continued taking part in such programs as a student later on (studying English & American language, literature, civilization… no wonder why).
Now that I am an English teacher, I’m still eager to volunteer for that type of program. Last summer, I was lucky enough to discover Avon Lake, Ohio and so many of its nice & welcoming inhabitants.
I was there as a group leader with another French leader, that’s how I had the opportunity to meet Jill W. Quinn who has been a fantastic co worker and much more than that.
Thanks to her positive energy, her skills and also her real devotion to all the people involved, we have all had a wonderful stay in Avon Lake. We will always remember the good times spent together, the laughs we had. Once more, this stay benefited all : sharing good times, exchanging and discovering about each other culture and habits. If travels broaden the mind, that type of program goes even further by offering all of us an occasion to open up to other horizons, people and way of life.
I do believe that that kind of experience can only be positive, helping people to become more aware about their own roots & cultural background while discovering new ones.
Especially nowadays, when the whole world tend to spread negative thoughts, people feeling more and more threatened in their own personal lives, trying to remain open to the outside world can only be positive !
Since some unfortunately cannot afford such trips, I have tried to set up an exchange between some Amercian pupils from Avon Lake High school with some of my own school in France. So far, the few exchanges we’ve had have been very motivating on both sides!!!
Thanks again to my lovely host family and to amazing Jill, without whom I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy my stay so much !

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have.
